Leon Gabinet, longtime tax law professor at the Case �鶹ӳ�� School of Law, passed away on Dec. 6, 2021, at age 94. He is survived by his children Sarah (LAW '82), Katie and Ari, as well as many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Delanté Spencer Thomas, director of JD Advantage Advising and Outreach at Case �鶹ӳ�� School of Law, has been named to Crain's Cleveland Business 2021 Forty Under 40.

President Joe Biden has nominated Marisa Darden, an adjunct professor at Case �鶹ӳ�� School of Law, as the next U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Ohio. If confirmed, Darden will be the first Black woman to hold this position.

In October, Case �鶹ӳ�� School of Law First Amendment Clinic students Makela Hayford, Ginger Pinkerton and Nathan Venesky, along with First Amendment Fellow Sara Coulter, completed a 3½-day bench trial in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Ohio in Youngstown before the Honorable Judge Benita Y.
