The Yemen Accountability Project (YAP) at Case �鶹ӳ�� School of Law has published its second white paper, “

George S. Kamanda, a third-year law student at Case �鶹ӳ��, was named the recipient of the 2021 Wong Moss Outstanding Alumni Award by his undergraduate alma mater, Delaware County Community College, and has been asked to deliver the Commencement keynote address for the college’s Class of 2021 virtual ceremony.

The Case �鶹ӳ�� Law School Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot Court team has just capped off a tremendous year of competitions.

On March 30, 2021, the Institute for Global Security Law and Policy, together with Physicians for Human Rights (PHR), submitted a letter to United Nations experts concerning attacks by federal and local police on medics during the racial justice and anti-police brutality protests over the summer of 2020 across the United States.

Environmental law expert Jim Chen, a 1991 graduate of Case �鶹ӳ�� School of Law, will be its 2021 graduation ceremony speaker. This year’s commencement will take place in-person from 1-2:30 p.m. on Sunday, May 16, two weeks before the University’s convocation.

Every spring, National Jurist selects a handful of the most impressive law students from the nation’s 200 law schools as “Law Student of the Year Finalists.”  Making the list of seven finalists this year was Case �鶹ӳ�� School of Law 3L Clare Shin.

On March 30, 2021, U.S. News and World Report issued its Law School rankings for 2022. Case �鶹ӳ�� School of Law improved four places in the overall ranking and eight places in the International Law ranking.

Building upon Co-Dean Michael Scharf’s concept of “Grotian Moments” (paradigm shifts and tipping points in international law), as set out in his two recent books published by Cambridge University Press, the Max Planck Institute in Heidelberg convened an international workshop on March 26-27, 2021, entitled “Grotian Moments in International Law.”

Professor Sharona Hoffman was recently asked by the local chapter of Wellesley Club, an organization which promotes literacy, to organize a book talk for Shipped, a debut novel receiving positive reviews.

Visiting Professor Katharine Van Tassel presented a paper entitled “Vulnerable Populations and Vaccine Injury Compensation: The Need for Legal Reform” at a conference hosted by Harvard and Yale Law Schools.

Case �鶹ӳ�� School of Law reached the finals of the Americas and Caribbean Round of the International Criminal Court Moot Court competition, held remotely from March 13–14.

Last year, Case �鶹ӳ�� School of Law launched a new Appellate Litigation Clinic, which recently completed a marathon month of oral arguments in four criminal appeals.

In the Winter 2021 issue of Prelaw Magazine, Case �鶹ӳ�� School of Law was awarded a top rating in public policy law that placed the school among the 20 highest in the nation.
