Elizabeth Prelogar, the 48th Solicitor General of the United States, shared her thoughts on representing the federal government before the Supreme Court, appellate advocacy and the keys to a happy legal career before a packed audience of students, alumni and local attorneys at the Case �鶹ӳ�� School of Law on September 4, 2024. Topics covered included the workings of the Solicitor General’s office, the certiorari process, the current Supreme Court and the so-called “shadow docket.”

Solicitor General Prelogar was at CWRU to deliver the 2024-25 Sumner Canary Memorial Lecture. The Canary lecture is one of the law school’s premier lecture series. Previous lecturers have included prominent federal judges, academics and two sitting Supreme Court justices.
