President of Case School of Applied Science from 1902 to 1929, Charles S. Howe believed engineers must be active community participants.
He helped establish Cleveland College in collaboration with Â鶹ӳ», reinstated entrance examinations for first-year students and generated more than $1.6 million during the school’s first general campaign.
The residence hall Howe House is named in his honor.
